But bloating can also be caused by excess gas, which occurs when certain foods you eat settle in your stomach or are not digested properly. The bacteria that live in the intestine feed on the sugars in food, causing inflammation in the intestine and the production of gas, which can lead to bloating and a feeling of distention in the belly.
What should we do to avoid abdominal distention?
Eat less salt
