In 1996, four guys in Bayonne, France came together and Gojira was formed. Their name looks like it’s spelled similar to “Godzilla” doesn’t it? Well the original way to pronounce “Godzilla” in Japanese was actually “Gojira”. That’s what inspired the name for this French death metal band. They spent quite a few years trying to get their music in the direction it is today. Last year, they released their fantastic album Magma and were nominated for 2 Grammys! What are they doing right now? Going on tour!
We get to help many bands like Gojira. Hundreds of music artists and bands have concerts and go on tour like they do. With the help of our CO2 delivery service, we contribute to the success of a concert or even whole tours. But what do CO2 cylinders have anything to do with music anyway? Lots of things need to be operated for just one performance. Sound equipment, lights, and sometimes even tools for special effects. Our CO2 cylinders are used for the special effects, which usually include a foggy stage or instantaneous smoke flying into the sky. On some occasions, lasers can be visibly seen shot in the air. We are very familiar with how these effects work. The only way for the effects can be possible is for the cylinders to hook up to the equipment that creates them.
We worked hard with the production manager to make sure everything went well. It can be quite a bit of work to make sure everything goes well, but we always make sure our CO2 tanks deliver and everything goes as planned. That way Gojira would have the special effects to make their performance even more epic. Even the littlest bit of help does so much for a band’s tour.
We hope for the best with Gojira as they go on tour. This month, they’ll be in North America and Opeth, Mastodon, and Deafheaven will even be support artists for their run. In April, they’ll head to Europe. If you happen to be in the area and love metal, you may consider going to see these guys perform. Also, in August 2017, they’ll be back in America and will play the opening act for Metallica’s WorldWired Tour, along with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat. It’s great to see them play supporting acts, especially with bands like Metallica that continue to go strong for years. Shows just how great they are doing in the music industry. Below are just a few of the dates and locations they’ll be performing.
May 6 Electric Factory (Philadelphia, PA)
May 7 Starland Ballroom (Sayreville, NJ)
May 9 The Vic Theatre (Chicago, IL)
May 11 Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, CO)
May 12 Arvest bank Theater at The Midland (Kansas City, MO)
